National Lutheran Schools Week

Beautiful Savior and the Child Development Center celebrated National Lutheran Schools Week January 27 – February 1, 2019, with our sister schools of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod around the country as we proclaimed and celebrated God’s work among us. With our LCMS schools we share the life-changing message of Jesus’ love with more than 200,000 students, their families, and the communities we serve.

We kicked off the week by inviting the children to participate in worship on January 27. At the 11:00am service they shared a mini-musical titled, Jesus and the Children. All worship services that weekend included the Profession of Faith—a creed reflecting our child-like faith, Psalm 46 using a children’s Bible paraphrase, and songs and choruses familiar to our Center children. These child-friendly elements were used to demonstrate how we teach the children and how we share our faith at the Center.
The week-long celebration at the Center continued on Tuesday when we welcomed Merlajean with her fun and interactive puppet show. On Wednesday the children brought their favorite books to share with the class. We stepped out on Thursday with Silly Socks and Slippers Day. And on Friday we celebrated with a birthday party for the Center and wore the school’s colors—blue and yellow.

We thank God for the opportunity to nurture and instruct the children we serve and are most grateful for the opportunity to share Jesus' amazing love with children and their families. National Lutheran Schools Week is a time to celebrate and proclaim these great blessings in our communities. Our schools are remarkable incubators for the faithful witness of God's love for us in Christ by teachers and students alike.
