Beautiful Feet

Over the past week, you’ve had the opportunity to read about what members of Beautiful Savior have been experiencing during our time here in India. You’ve had the opportunity to read about what came alive for them as they interacted with the people and as they saw God at work…not just in India… but in their own lives. And, who knows, maybe along the way, you might’ve learned something about them as well. I know I have! Do you know what I have learned about them?

They have beautiful feet.

Now let’s be clear, I really haven’t been paying that close of attention when it comes to their actual feet. In fact, the only foot I’ve really looked at is Steve Hoem’s because he got a blister playing “Kavati” or “catch” with the children at the Moriah home. One thing that I can say for sure is that blister did not make his feet beautiful…and yet he and all the members of the trip still had beautiful feet.

Romans 10:14-15 tells us, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

This is how I know they have beautiful feet. Even though I wasn’t paying too much attention to their actual feet, I was paying attention in every village when Nancy spent time with the children and the elderly. I was paying attention when Dustin prayed over families who were struggling with serious health issues. I was paying attention when Heather gave prayer shawls to pastors wives for encouragement and strength. I was paying attention when Steve played with the children at the Moriah home.

That’s how I know they have beautiful feet…because in each of those places they brought good news. Good news to the children and the elderly that they were important to Jesus. Good news to the struggling that Jesus knows their struggle and is with them always. Good news to the pastors wives that Jesus hears them always when they pray. Good news that Jesus Christ is active and at work always in the lives of the people of this world.

That was the message this team brought with every step to every church, every village, every person as God did it again…as He opened up incredible opportunities for us.

I am extremely thankful to God, not just for the opportunities, but for this team.

This team from Beautiful Savior with beautiful feet.

Thank you again for all your prayers and support! They have been a blessing to us and a source of strength and encouragement each and every day!

God’s Richest Blessings! Pastor Joe Behnke
