God’s Love Conquers All
A Hindu, a Muslim, and a Christian enter a church..... In the United States this would be a pre-amble to a joke or a story analyzing different religions. Here in India this is not a joke but the reality of those attending worship.
In Romans 10:14 we are asked “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” As Bible Faith Lutheran Church works to be the answer to these questions we have seen in India that lives are changed once people hear the word of the Lord.
On our final day in India we were honored to meet many individuals who had heard his wonderful message. Two individuals stood out the most though. We got to meet a woman of the Muslim faith that has been drawn to attend church and is beginning to learn of Gods endless love for her. It is my hope that she continues to be open to his message and comes to truly understand his love for her. A second woman we met has come to fully understand this. She had been a practicing Hindu for over 50 years and has been so touched by Gods love that she was going to be baptized soon. So great is his love that it overcame 50 years of routine. I know for myself it takes an amazing amount of effort to break from a routine that is only been in place for a year or so. I can’t even fathom what it would take to break one that was going on for 5 decades!
It has been amazing to see God’s love touch so many people’s lives in so many different ways on this trip. May God continue to give strength to the church here in India so that others may continue to hear his words and to know his love!
